In a shimmering kaleidoscope of familiar songs, film composer Randy Edelman celebrates a mosaic of his experiences and his illustrious journey that colours our past, present and future through his music and stories.
The immense impact that Randy’s music has had began in the UK with his 1976 hit songs "Uptown, Uptempo Woman" and "Concrete and Clay" (as performed on Top of the Pops), and were both from his album "Farewell Fairbanks."
The iconic record considered by some to be their "Guilty Pleasure" also included “You” (covered by The Carpenters), “Blues Street” (covered by Blood, Sweat, and Tears), and the timeless classic “A Weekend in New England” (covered by Barry Manilow).
A cavalcade of his songs continued to be covered by some of the most prestigious artists of our times including “Isn’t it a Shame” (Patti LaBelle), “My Place” (Nelly), “The Laughter and the Tears” (Dionne Warwick), “If Love is Real” (Olivia Newton-John), and others inclusive of Willy Nelson, Shirley Bassey, Nancy Wilson, and even Bing Crosby.
The multi award-winning symphonist later made his move in Hollywood and became the most sought after film and television soundtrack architect with over 100 musical scores and themes to his credit.
Randy showcases a montage of some of his triumphant scores including: Kindergarten Cop, My Cousin Vinny, Dragonheart, The Bruce Lee Story, Ghostbusters ll, Billy Madison, Gettysburg, While You Were Sleeping, Twins, and Last of the Mohicans, which earned him a Golden Globe nomination.
