Forgotten Voices
Set in 1956, and spanning a turbulent time in South African history, this one-woman theatre show tells the remarkable story of the Lancashire pensioner who helped pave the way for Nelson Mandela and the liberation of South Africa.
The powerful account of a woman at the forefront of challenging South Africa’s racist policies, Forgotten Voices tells the true story of Eva Moorhead Kadalie, the widow of South Africa’s first national black trade union leader, Clements Kadalie. For over three decades, the couple fought for freedom, before Eva was forced to flee to England.
Always ready to stand up and challenge white privilege and racial injustice, Eva was a strong, resilient woman and way ahead of her time. Prepare to be entertained, educated and inspired.
Written by Eva’s grandson David Moorhead, and starring Shareesa Valentine as Eva.
