This regular event at The Met features three artists sharing the stage to showcase their songwriting talent and tell the stories behind their music. Expect the very best of Greater Manchester?s acoustic talent.Our March event features?Born in London and raised in the US, Katy Hurt was drawn to the sounds of country, americana and Southern rock from a young age, inspired by artists such as Bonnie Raitt, Sheryl Crow, The Eagles, and Patsy Cline. Since her debut in 2016, Katy has released a string of critically acclaimed singles and EPs, showcasing her versatile range and has won accolades such as the UK Country Music Spotlight Awards for Female Vocalist of the Year, Best EP, Best Song and Best Video. She has also toured extensively, playing major festivals such as Country 2 Country at the O2 Arena, Pilton Party on Glastonbury?s famed Pyramid Stage and the Isle of Wight festival. Katy spent time in Canada, which she now considers her second home, writing and recording a host of songs including some of her singles Sounds Good In A Bar and Wish I Could Give You Up, which both went to Number 1 on the UK iTunes charts on the day of release and were subsequently added to rotation on CBC, Sirius XM, KIX Australia and were play-listed on Amazon Music. The tracks which were produced by Juno Award-winning producer Murray Pulver (Doc Walker, The Bros. Landreth) come from her soon to be released and highly anticipated debut album.Most recently her single Face to Face was featured in the movie Slingshot starring Casey Affleck and Laurence Fishburne.Harry?s debut EP, recorded at the prestigious Abbey Road Studios, encapsulates his evolving thoughts and emotions as hinted by its title. Landslide weaves together modern soul and folk elements, characterized by powerful vocals, uplifting melodies, and storytelling lyrics, resulting in a unique yet authentically raw sound. The first single, When The Light Is Burning, is available now, with the EP set to be released shortly after the new year.Harry Lines has established a vibrant presence in the Manchester gig scene since he began studying pop vocals in 2023. In the past year, he has graced esteemed venues such as Band On The Wall and Castle Hotel, and with backing from notable figures such as BBC Radio 1?s Honor Morrison, excitement builds for his forthcoming EP.Live performances play a crucial role in sharing his music with the audience, allowing everyone to experience the same euphoria he feels on stage. With unforgettable choruses and guitar riffs influenced by artists like James Bay and Paolo Nutini, he effortlessly grabs the listener?s attention and welcomes them into his musical world.The evening will be presented by Manchester based singer-songwriter Ben P Williams, whose songs have seen support from BBC Radio 6, BBC Radio 2 and BBC Introducing. Moulding the classic song-writing sound of Paul Simon with the laid-back nature of Jack Johnson, Ben draws inspiration from the greats while injecting his own wit and imagination into lyrics and melodies which can?t help but bring a smile to your face.
