A new instrumental project sitting somewhere between post-rock and prog, bringing together veterans of bands such as Talk Talk, Pink Floyd, Dire Straits and Blur.
Described by many reviewers as a cross between Spirit of Eden-era Talk Talk and Gilmour-led Pink Floyd, Held By Trees’ live iteration is a tantalising prospect. Led by David Joseph, the band features album contributors world-renowned guitarist Robbie McIntosh (The Pretenders, Paul McCartney, John Mayer, Talk Talk), flute/clarinet/sax virtuoso Andreas Panayi (McCartney, Mark Hollis), and piano master Laurence Pendrous (Mark Hollis, Anja Garbarek).
Few projects can boast support from both BBC 6 Music and Radio 3, but Held By Trees has many unique claims within its short history.
