Raised in a mining village (his parents a cleaner and a coal miner sacked after the 1926 General Strike), Nature of the Beast (2018) looks at what lies behind ‘The Beast of Bolsover’, the passion and drive, and tracks his rise from a local councillor to becoming one of Britain’s most recognisable politicians, feared and respected on both sides of the House of Commons for his fearsome wit and rhetoric, and for his uncompromising principles in defence of the working class.
