Orchestre de L'Entente Cordial & Laura van der Heijden

To celebrate a new, cordial phase of Anglo-French relations, some of the finest musicians under 30 from both sides of the Channel join forces in this new orchestre par excellence, founded to celebrate the 120th anniversary of the Entente Cordiale between the UK and France led by the distinguished conductor Jan Latham-Koenig.

We start on home turf with two of Elgar’s finest works – including the timeless Cello Concerto, performed by former BBC Young Musician of the Year Laura van der Heijden. And then we’re off to Paris with Satie’s Gymnopédies, Debussy’s sinuous symphonic poem and Poulenc’s glorious ballet suite. Vive l’Entente Cordiale! Vive la musique!
