Pendleton School of Theatre Acting Company present Jim Cartwright's gritty and poignant play.

A road, a wild night; a rum-soaked, street-wise guide, Scullery, conducts an evening's tour of a poverty-stricken road in a small Lancashire town.

Moving from street corner to living room, from bedroom to kitchen, we meet a community scarred by unemployment that is as relevant now as ever.

The stories are sharp, sad, funny and angry, the language is vivid and explicit.

Dreams collide with harsh realities and the struggle of the human spirit pulses to the rhythm of the street.

The Sixth form college's alumni include musical theatre student Tom Glynn-Carney, who took a leading role in the 2017 box-office hit, Dunkirk, starring alongside Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy and Harry Styles.

Other successful and well-known alumni include Coronation Street stars Faye Brookes, Catherine Tyldesley and British Soap Award winner, Michelle Keegan.

The department boasts an exceptional track record for progression, with students going on to study at prestigious schools and star in noteworthy productions, starring in everything from Emmerdale and Holby City, to performing on the West End.
