Peter Donohoe & Martin Roscoe
It is no overstatement to say these are two of the world’s most renowned pianists: Peter won the Tchaikovsky Piano Competition in 1982, and Martin has made over 600 broadcasts, including seven BBC Proms appearances.
They have been playing as a duo since their student days in Manchester and are renowned for their concerts as a musical pair.
Donohoe and Roscoe play separate pianos, allowing each player the full range of the keyboard, and doubling a single keyboard’s possibilities. Their programme includes Rachmaninov’s Suite No 2 which was composed at the same time as his second piano concerto, and the relationship between the two works is instantly recognisable.
