Manchester’s most exciting LGBTQ+ new writing project is joining forces with Hope Mill to celebrate their 200th birthday.

Qweer Shorts is an exciting test-ground for new queer writing.

Their regular ‘Introducing’ nights are a space for writers, artists and performers to try out and test new queer work in front of a real Hope Mill audience.

Thanks to the National Lottery Heritage fund and National Lottery players, Hope Mill Theatre are spending their 200th birthday exploring and celebrating the history of the mill, the surrounding areas and the people who have lived and worked there since the mill was built in 1824.

Each piece focuses on local Queer stories from the last 200 years.

The shows are filled with vibrant, unique LGBTQ+ voices : a real celebration of all the letters of the rainbow!
