RNCM Young Explorers: Interactive Science Workshops
Join us for a morning of inspiring science and music workshops!
Discover the wonders of technology and creativity as you make music with plants using cutting-edge technology developed by Bionic and the Wires. In this workshop, young people will explore the fascinating intersection of nature and sound. Sensors connected to the leaves or roots of plants measure the electrical signals generated through natural processes like photosynthesis. These signals are then transformed into sound using specialized music-making equipment.
Here?s what to expect in the Bionic and the Wires session:
A discussion on plant science, exploring plant senses and communication.
An introduction to the music equipment used to create sound.
A hands-on experience working with plants and experimenting with music.
Wrapping up with a fun plant disco and collaborative plant jam session.
Meanwhile, explore the possibilities of a virtual orchestra with PRiSM, where PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo controllers become musical instruments through the magic of coding. Participants will engage with technology in an innovative way, discovering how coding can turn everyday gaming devices into tools for creating music.
Don?t forget to grab your tickets to the afternoon Young Explorers concert and experience the thrilling fusion of science, space, and video games brought to life by the incredible KNDS Fairey Band?and host Mike Poyser.
