As one of the most traditional pop bands of the new wave, London's Squeeze provided one of the links between classic British guitar pop and post-punk providing the vehicle for the wry, subtle lyric writing of Chris Difford and traditional pop music compositions of Glenn Tilbrook.
Their 1979 hits "Cool For Cats" and "Up The Junction" both reached no.2 in the UK charts, while "Labelled With Love" hit no.4 in 1981.
