The Best of Iris Prize LGBTQ+ Film Festival (18)

Iris Prize LGBTQ+ Film Festival present a diverse selection of outstanding short films showcasing unique LGBTQ+ stories from around the world.

This showcase of standout films from Iris 2024, featuring award-winning stories on love, identity, and the human experience will be introduced by Berwyn Rowlands, Festival Director at Iris. 

Films screening in this programme are: 

Sister Wives (Directed by Louisa Connolly-Burnham/GB 2024/28 mins).

Two sister wives married to the same man start to develop feelings for each other. 

Winner: 2024 Iris Prize Best British & Co-op Audience Award 

JIA (Directed by Vee Shi/AU 2023/15 mins).

Ming, a grieving Chinese mother, travels to Australia and embarks on a road trip with Eric in order to remember her late son. Ming’s conservative values are tested when she learns Eric was her son’s lover. 

Winner: 2024 Youth Jury Award 

Blood Like Water (Directed by Dima Hamdan/PS 2023/14 mins).

Shadi embarks on a secret adventure, and accidentally drags his family into a trap where they only have two choices; either collaborate with the Israeli opposition or be shamed and humiliated by their own people.
