Toss The Feathers

Manchester's most exciting Celtic export since Phil Lynott, legendary folk rockers Toss the Feathers are known for their contemporary blending of traditional Irish music with various music styles.

Originally formed in 1987 after Dave Smylie met Pete Carberry in Manchester's Bouzouki By Night, they were joined by Michael McGoldrick, Angela Usher and Martin Moylan, with the Mancunian second-generation Irish going on to record three critically acclaimed albums and sell out the city's Apollo Theatre.

'The Tossers' have always had a large following and have been able to survive various line-up changes since as well as accomodating solo success from Michael McGoldrick.

Currently at the helm Eddie Sheehan's dynamic vocals and driving guitar, power life into traditional songs and the band's original repertoire.

The rhythmic backbone of the band is still provided by Dave Smylie, who's energetic dance grooves add the bottom to the band's sound.

Mike McGoldrick with his mastery of flute, whistle and pipes, along with life long musical partner, the virtuoso fiddler, Desi Donnelly, complete the lineup.

Together creating genius arrangements,  weaving multitude of melifluous textures that are the Toss the Feathers sound so loved by audiences.
