From The Jam

Bruce Foxton is a part of the English Rock and Roll establishment. A musician who is most commonly recognised as the bass player and vocalist in legendary bands Stiff Little Fingers and, more famously, mod-revivalists The Jam, with Paul Weller and drummer Rick Butler, enjoying amazing chart success, including four no.1 singles - "Town Called Malice", "Going Underground", "Beat Surrender" and "Start!", while "That's Entertainment" and "Just Who Is the 5 O'Clock Hero?" remain the best-selling import singles of all time in the UK.

Bruce's versatility is evident, taking lead vocals on the band's UK Top 30 hits "David Watts", a cover of the Kinks, and "News Of The World", one of his own compositions, as well as the tracks "Carnaby Street," and "Smithers-Jones".

After The Jam split in 1982, he pursued a solo career and had a hit with the single "Freak", before collaborating with other musicians and eventually joining Stiff Little Fingers, with whom he stayed for fifteen years before reuniting with Rick Buckler in 1994, the two going on to establish From The Jam in 2007, featuring Russell Hastings on lead vocals, who had been in Buckler's band, The Gift. Rick announced his departure from the band in late 2009.
