Walter Trout

Walter Trout

Despite playing since 1969, starting out in New Jersey bars before making a name for himself with John Lee Hooker, Canned Heat and John Mayall, even now, aged 70, the iconic US blues-rock guitarist Walter Trout is still writing fresh chapters of his life story, having recently moved from California to Denmark with his beloved family.

Anyone who is reasonably familiar with his career and personal destiny knows that the blues and rock guitarist has experienced and achieved more than half a century in the course of his career, but has also had to cope with much worse than most of his guild.

Trout's worst possible turn to date came in the form of incurable liver disease, which he survived in 2014 only thanks to donated organ transplantation. Literally reborn and at the height of his artistry as an instrumentalist as well as a songwriter, he has since reached the top spot on the Billboard Blues charts and seen his albums named the Best Blues Album of the Year by Classic Rock magazine.
